BERKELEY, Calif. (MarketWatch) — Shareholders of Yahoo Inc. are now being confronted by Carl Icahn and the slate of directors he has to replace the current board. The thinking is that the company’s directors screwed up an opportunity to sell to Microsoft Corp. I’ve looked over the current directors of Yahoo and Icahn’s proposed replacements. Here’s what I think of them, keeping in mind that to be on this board it might be useful if you knew something (anything) about computers and the Internet. In some cases, I seriously doubt that the person named even knows how to turn on a computer.

Despite break-up reports, Jessica Simpson will bring Tony Romo as her date to Ashlee Simpson’s weekend wedding, a source tells PEOPLE. Jessica, 27, will be maid of honor at her 23-year-old sister’s wedding to rocker Pete Wentz. A source close to Jessica tells PEOPLE that Romo will be attending the event with Jessica.

SAN ANTONIO — The last thing the New Orleans Hornets wanted was to give the defending champions the whole weekend off before Game 7. “You’re playing with fire,” coach Byron Scott said before the San Antonio Spurs beat the Hornets 99-80 Thursday night. Too late now. It’s back to New Orleans for a winner-take-all matchup Monday night. While the aging Spurs can certainly use the time off, the break might also help the banged-up Hornets.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has made official a recommendation it first put out 19 months ago: that adults ages 60 and older get vaccinated against shingles. The potentially debilitating illness involves mild-to-severe tingling, itching, burning, or shooting pain and is caused by the same virus that caused their chicken pox as kids. Merck, the maker of the Zostavax vaccine, says it has distributed just 2.5 million doses of the shot so far—a far cry from the 43 million people who are eligible to get vaccinated.
